NFL Betting Season Is Now Open

NFL betting season is now open for me. Kinda late really considering it is already the second week of the regular season. Well, I don't count the pre-season matches. Those games are a crap shoot. You just don't know who will show up to play or who will just be there for a dress rehearsal.

Anyway, sports betting is one of my past times. I consider myself a semi-professional sports capper... a BAD semi-professional sports capper! LOL! American football being one of my most favorite and strongest games to cap. That really isn't saying much considering how bad I am at sports capping! Oh did I just say that out loud... twice even?!!! LOL!

This season, I'll be placing a lesser number of bets. I'll be a more disciplined bettor. Normally, I'd be tall the under in the games in the first week. The unders usually hit 60%-66% clip which is quite high plus the fact that this has a good historical basis, unders during the games int he first week are golden. Now, the second week is coming to a close with a Monday Night Football match between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Indianapolis Colts. Two weeks into the 17-week season and I have yet to make a bet. How's that for being disciplined?!!! I actually circled a couple of games for the second week and I would have won 5 out of the 8 bets that I was planning to make including my two best bets. Alas, I didn't make any bets with my bookie. Talk about irony gambling gods! Talk about irony!!!

Going to watch the MNF game but I won't be making any bets. Looking forward to week 3 already.

You guys place bets on sporting events and games? Any degenerates here in PP?

Afraid not. I am not a gambler. I did used to make a regular contribution to the lottery but having lost a LOT more than I put in, when they doubled the price to £2, with no increased chance of winning, I quit. My son in law likes to bet on the rugby. He enjoys watching the game and he is quite a lucky gambler, so i leave it to him.

Occasionally I will make a friendly wager ;) but it's always on my home team, of course.. win or lose... It's the New England Patriots all the way

tinamarie , New England was one of my bets for the second week. They covered the spread easily with a 30-7 drubbing of Minnesota. Always been a fan of Bill Belichick and Tom Brady. That win was Belichick's 200 win over all.

MegL , gambling isn't for everyone. LOL about your lottery comment! There are days I feel like that as well.

I place bets in rugby as well usually in NRL games.

My husband spends a lot of time going through some process to bet on these games. I have no interest
