Using Colors with Tags, Will That Work?

i just wrote an article, and I thought I would try out the colors, but I put them with the that I used both in the text and underneath. My tags didn't work properly. I'm wondering if that is because they are not the color that the underlying code calls for, that I in some way jinxed that part of my post?

In other words, is the only meant to be used in places where the words wouldn't be colored on their own? I know that I was reading something someone else put out on linking and they discussed highlighting a portion of text in order to link a URL to that section highlighted. I've not figured all of that out as yet, so maybe I messed that up in my previous post?

I tend to figure things out eventually if I continue working with a specific site and it's code, so I'm sure I'll learn this eventually. Just thought I'd ask before I have to do more homework on this aspect.

That's a really good question, Marsha. I'm sure elitecodex can answer this, but I suspect you're on the right track in thinking maybe there's already a style associated with links and tags. It likely already has a colour associated with it :)

I think your hunch is right- if tags had different colors would it be easy to recognize them as tags?

Ruby3881 and suffolkjason the problem is that I already changed them back to black, and they still don't work. I did write and ask Will on his profile and am awaiting an answer. I'm sure he's quite busy as usual, but I'm sure he'll get back to me eventually.

I don't know why I didn't think of this sooner, but when I changed my words back to black it still didn't work. Tonight, (Fri) I deleted each tagged word and then put it back into the same space and after re-submitting it, it finally did work correctly. Even though I changed it back to black I think the system didn't recognize what I was doing and looked at that as another color. But, when I deleted each word group and retyped it with the correct tag, then it showed up correctly as it normally would.

I'm afraid I don't experiment much, but leave it up to better minds such as yours to lead the way. : )

Oh my, this is all too complicated. I feel I am being left behind with all this SEO, tags and all. LOL

I don't know why you feel that way, Paigea since you yourself use a few tags on your posts too, such as the FOPP one and similar. (I did not mean to have that acronym highlighted).
