Scary Night

I woke up late this morning, because last night I could not sleep well. Last night when I went to bed, and began to pray for my sleep, I heard a strange noise. There was a knock on the outside of my room, I had wanted to run the logic to think that maybe it is insect. But the knock had a rhythmic, not long ago from the commencement knock in my room, my neighbor's dogs howling, they shouted to one another, and no noise of people passing in the street near my home. I can no longer cope with my fear, I ran into my mother's room. Although I decided to sleep there, I still can not sleep well.

At 02.00 am, situation began to calm, roosters start crowing, then I can sleep well.

I do not know why, but this is not the first time strange things happen in my house. When night was getting late, and if I could not sleep yet I'm always ready to run to my mother's room.

That is strange. When I'm working in this room writing there is a repetitive noise like a loud click that seems to come from the other side of my window at odd times. It drives me nuts and I can't figure out what it is. When I go outside to look I can see nothing. I'm sure glad it's not outside my bedroom window or I'd never get any sleep.

Could it be a tree branch? What about the cooling down of part of the house as darkness comes? During a hot day, parts of the house will expand, then cool as darkness comes. Our central heating makes noises as the pipes warm and cool. They are more noticeable at night, when everything else is quiet. Do you have a family member who might be trying to scare you? Are there cichadas or other insects that might be making a noise? If I can't sleep (not because of noises), I have an MP3 player with headphones that I leave by my bed all the time, with relaxation recordings on it. You can download lots of relaxation recordings for free or for a small cost and I play these. The relaxation recordings stop my thoughts going round and round and also cut out some of the outside noises (not all, I don't have them up very loud) and I get to sleep. The next morning, I put the MP3 player on to recharge the battery, otherwise it would not be available for another night that i can't sleep. Sometimes, I need the recordings several nights in a row but then, often, I do not need it for weeks at a time.

Happened to me once when I was 13 but when I checked the room it turned out repetitive knocks where coming from a dying insect. It was kind of rhythmic too. It was scary of course.

Might be the result of your imagination. Just a thought.

When we first moved into our house I would hear this humming noise only at one end of the home. It would go on for days and drive me crazy and I was the only one to hear it. Come to find out the farm down the road runs a generator for his animals when it's really cold out and I guess the frequency of the hum is one that I am able to pick up. So every winter I live with the humming noise. I have thought about putting it to music and see what happens.

If you are uncertain about the source of the hum, maybe you should not care about it Tina .. think about it would be very annoying ..

I don't know Allen..but i don't want to think about it anymore...

I experienced probably the same as what you experienced Shadi, it's just at that time I did not check to make sure.

I'm not sure Meg, but i'm sure it's not a tree banch.. whatever it is, I try not to think about it again before bed. last night I took my cat sleep in my room, so I feel I have a friend. other than that, the sound of purring distract attention from other noises.

Owh you can feel relieved about it Barb,.

That reminds me, I use white noise or the sound of a cat purring (I have it on a CD) or the sound of rain for getting my grandchildren to sleep

First of all first knock outside my bedroom window, I'm gone, no logic will stop me running. But maybe the house is haunted, you might want to find out what happened in the house you moved into. Just glad your Mom's room is close to you. I myself would not sleep comfortable if I know there have been strange knockings and sounds.

I hope all the nights since that scary night has been pleasant for you and that you can sleep in your own bed and not have to go to your Mothers.
