What A Downer!!!

Recently made a post about the possibility of holding two or more jobs ( read the full post here, http://tinyurl.com/kq3hpwf ). Got a nice set of comments. Really encouraging and I was already looking through possible second jobs that I can apply for.

I then came across MegL 's comment so I had to look it up. In case you missed it, here is a link for the story, http://tinyurl.com/qczgkjr . A woman working two jobs died in her sleep as she was napping in her car. She was coming from a previous shift in one job and is on her way to another job when this tragic event happened. Apparently an overturned gas canister caused fumes in her car and this was the cause of death although no official cause of death has been released.

Clearly the circumstances of her life drove her to get multiple jobs at once. What a downer?!!! I feel so sad that it has come to this. Of course, there are worse working conditions but this one really hits home.

That was an isolated instance to think that double jobs did that. One could couple online and offline jobs

Yes, I was going to say that you had actually written a post on that.

Let me scoot over to your post and read it. Not sure how I can miss such a post.

Well not so much the fact that she was holding three different jobs but more so about the circumstances that forced her to juggle three jobs all.at the same time.

She did something no one does normally, sleeping in her with the engine running. One can certainly organise something far better than this surely.

I don't know if she was working this many jobs out of necessity but if that was the case there is something wrong with the system..

Sometimes it isn't that quick or obvious when you work two jobs. My uncle worked two jobs, including 8-10 hours a day at the post office (and you know how well THEY pay!), to put his kids through college. He died of a heart attack shortly after he retired, and everyone in the family said he worked himself to death.

It is sad that some people need multiple jobs to make ends meet and then there are people who are paid hundreds times more than other people.

Exactly bestwriter . Perhaps, if she wasn't too tired from working in multiple jobs, she would have thought about this instead of just dozing off and leaving the motor running.

Just my two cents.

That is indeed a sad story. Being too tired is dangerous.
