X-Men Days of Future Past: Review/Reaction/Thoughts

WARNING: There are minor spoilers here!

I just watched the one of the most anticipated superhero film of the year X-men Days of Future Past !

Many critics praised the film and it currently holds a very high rating.

Now I don't fancy myself as a critic so whatever you read here is just an opinion of your average joe who just loves watching movies.

A lot of the X-men characters in the past films (including the first X-men trilogy) makes an appearance and some of them will surprised you. Of course we also get to meet a lot of new ones too like Sunspot and Bishop . Though some of them don't really have any dialog but their display of powers when fighting the Sentinels is still a very enjoyable sight to see. I especially like Magneto's scenes especially when he uses his powers like a boss and of course Quicksilver's scenes are just too fun.

I admit I did not read the comics but I say the story of the film still stands strong. I like how the director simultaneously show the events happening in the future and the past.

Some events of the film greatly reminded me of the infamous Order 66 sequence on Star Wars Revenge of the Sith . Now if you watched Star Wars you know what it means and now you know what to expect when watching the film. It's truly heartbreaking to watch those scenes. On the good note however I can safely say that X-men has a happier ending.

Just as I said earlier there are a lot of past characters here and you'll get to see a very brief look at their origin. Some character appearance, may confuse the viewers since it makes a few conflicts with the other X-men films. But it doesn't really affect the film, just a very minor itch. It does leave you some questions but it doesn't ruin your whole X-men experience imo. Also I was a little disappointed that some characters made a very brief appearance. Like they display their powers then leave. I was hoping they will all join up and have an epic showdown (still we get to see that from X-men from the future) but I still like how the story goes and how it ends.

The ending is perfect for me. It washed away my disappointment on X-3 . I guess it's all because of the alternate timeline thingy and I love it. Oh the post credit scene will just leave you wanting more! We get to see our next villain and his infamous followers. There! Just a few opinion on the movie. I love the film and I'm definitely looking forward for the Sequel!

I haven't watched this yet... or any of the X-Men movies. I'm a bit behind! I am not sure they would be up my alley. Thanks for the review though. I may look into watching them.

Watch them now! :) But I think you'll still understand the story even if you didn't watch the other films.

Can't say I have seen them although the previews look good. It'll be one of those movies I watch when I see it on Netflix and say "Oh yeah I remember that looking decent... I think I'll watch it now" LOL - Just a reminder that all articles need some sort of image credit that you are allowed to use the image. It's a pain I know but it protects all of us and prevents us from having a headache down the road. Thank you, and keep up the good work :)

Interesting... I may have to check this out. Granted I haven't watched X-Men since I was a kid but the previews do look good.

I watched the movie, As someone who reads the comics, I don't like this movie but I understand this is not marketed to the hardcore market. This is marketed to the casual audience and movie goers. So I wont complain. Its a harsh fact I just have to accept

I'm not a comic geek too but this movie is just awesome. Seeing the old and new X-MEN characters were just amazing. Michael Fassbender was outstanding.
