Technical Stuff Is Not My Forte, but Some Things...

...will make no sense whatsoever. I will not understand... no matter who tries to explain this one to me.
I consider myself to be somewhat intelligent and capable of learning new things. The use of technology is even beginning to make some sense to me, even though it comes a bit more slowly. I do not simply want to use it but, like so many other things in life, I tend to want to analyze it and understand why it works.
That's when my eyes glaze over, because the "techies" try to explain it to me in a language I do not understand.
When I ask "Why?" I want to know the big-picture, practical purpose, not have a diagram or a schematic with labels to follow. And then there are situations that absolutely defy all logic (in my mind).
I am sure there is a simple and logical explanation here at Persona Paper for what I have encountered, and I have tried to figure it out myself. I still draw a blank each time.
Can someone please tell me...how is it that on my latest poll asking about military service, there can be 4 views and 4 likes (I assume that the four who viewed it liked it); yet, there have been 11 votes on the poll itself.
Doesn't someone have to view it to vote on it? This makes no logical sense to me...AT ALL!

I think there may be an issue with the polls... another user brought it to my attention and I plan on looking into it today to see if I can find out what is going on. We made some changes to how the views are counted for articles but I have a feeling that polls may be need to be updated as well.

See? They respond to these things, CoralLevang . I've always assumed it was from viewers using ad-blocker or something. But, I'm not on that side of the computer monitor.

It may be the new math. Like broken cookies having no calories.

I was also wondering about that. I'm glad someone is responsive enough here to get back to us when we've mentioned a possible bug.

Thank you, elitecodex , for your response. I am curious about things like that and didn't understand.
Loudman , yes they do! I will not go away. You can't get rid of me that easily. ;)

Scorpie I hadn't heard that one, but I do know that if you drink a diet soda with someone with calories, it cancels out the calories. Something about a reaction between the sugar molecules and the aspartame, you know.

Hopefully, it was all sorted out. I only created my first poll the other day!
