Introduction for KatieSchweikle

My name is Katie Schweikle. I prefer being called Kate as the name Katie reminds me of being a girl of eight, wearing pigtails and carrying my natty old Paddington bear about, searching for bugs and frogs with my twin sister, Karen in the Mill Avon. My family originates in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire, England in a house facing the junction of the rivers Avon and Severn. Through to a strange quirk of fate, I have found myself living in Ohio after marrying the love of my life, Paul eighteen years ago. I have two children and three young granddaughters, all of whom are the lights of my life. For about twenty years now, I have been a freelance writer, writing articles about whatever the web master I had at the time assigned to me, mainly about travel, which I absolutely adore, especially about England. Every now and again, I’ll mix things up a bit and write about other destinations and subjects. Eventually, I’d like to write a book or a series of articles geared towards tea fanatics such as myself. I have been blessed with a tremendous imagination and have written several short stories, all of which have been well received by family and friends. I must admit, most of my fiction stories have been written with my granddaughters in mind. However, I find myself writing short stories about whatever catches my imagination as I peruse the internet researching whatever documentary it was that I was watching on television. I have had several interesting jobs throughout the years as I worked through a temp agency before I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. Now that I've become disabled I have more time to write, read and keep up to date with my favourite soap opera, EastEnders.
