The Race Is Over

I think I tied the clock, but it wasn't easy. I had planned to go nowhere and do nothing until the work was finished. Then the phone rang. The Realtor had one more counter offer paper we needed to sign and fax to her today, and the only printer is at the other house. So I had to go over there and open the email and print the form and initial a bunch of other pages. It would appear that the building is headed for escrow. But I didn't have too much time to think about it or about it being Hubby's birthday today. We'll have to celebrate this weekend.

I felt like a copying machine myself with all the archived copies of lenses I made. Some I had to open in edit and then open modules to copy my product descriptions or the decriptions I wrote several years ago in photo galleries. thoughtfully buried those in the new carousel so that you have to open in edit to see them. That's when I found out they had also limited the characters you could use. Fortuantely, they didn't delete the extra ones in edit, but not everything showed when people were looking through the . I am wondering what will do with those galleries. I can hardly wait to work the capule puzzles once everything is transferred. I have 61 lenses ready to graduate to hubs, and the rest of the 159 I copied and deleted.

I think I'm going to leave the computer and look at my Kindle a bit before bed. I am pretty close to exhausted after working past two last night (this morning). I may look at some of your posts before bed, but I don't have enough energy to make many comments. See you all in the morning.

WHAT a lot of work. I am glad I only had a few and none of those big galleries!

I just opened my lenses (about 5 at a time in new tabs), right clicked and hit the "save as" button. I can now load them from my hard drive and have all the content, including the Amazon products.
It's a lot of work isn't it, and it seems like everything has come at the same time.

Hope you had a good sleep. I sure did, back in my own bed after an exciting week in the wilderness and beyond. Congrats on the sale.

I'm glad you got everything done in time. Now take a break.

This is another case when Squidoo "improved" something that used to be just fine. I never did like the carousels they made out of our galleries, and after the fact they limited the characters we could use in descriptions so they wouldn't be cut off in the display. They had to go and "fix" something that was never broken.

I also did that, but when you go to copy those descriptions in your Amazon modules, you will discover, I think, as I did, you can't do it. One touch and you will find yourself at Amazon. Everything you wrote is part of the link. Where I had long descriptions or reviews -- as you may recall we were encouraged to write -- the only way to retrieve them in a form you can copy and paste is within edit within the edit form of that module. Same with all those wonderful review modules.

Not exactly peppy, but more rested. I'm thanking God it's today, not yesterday, that the modem acted up and I had to trouble shoot and reboot everything to get internet here again. Hubby is sick again and there's another real estate form I have to retrieve and print from my home computer. But I'll do what I can. I am so done with Squidoo.

I did have a good sleep. Glad your trip was wonderful. We aren't going to say this sale is a done deal until the money is in the bank. Lot's can go wrong in escrow.

I wouldn't call it a real break and in go kick up my heels somewhere. See comments above. But at least the pace is more relaxed. I got the dishes done and a load of laundry in and even finished that book I started in the first doctor waiting room on Monday. I had read three fourths of it in waiting rooms this week. Now I need to review it on my blog, which has been sadly neglected the past few weeks.
