Do You Keep A Travel Log?

Do you keep a travel log regardless of whatever form or way? Do you keep a tab of the places that you have traveled to? How about places that you wish to visit in the future? What kind of travel log do you keep? Do you have journal? Do you take pictures and videos? Do you buy souvenirs and postcards to take note of the places that you've been to?

I have a friend who has the set of places she has visited logged down in her Facebook account. She also has photo albums, both online and actual photos, set up to sort of document her travels. Another friend bought a world map from a specialty store in which she can literally 'scratch off' the places that she's been to. For me, I take lots of pictures and buy souvenirs as well. I rely on my memory so that I can reminisce about the good times that I had from traveling. Not exactly a good idea as most of these travels involve lots of alcohol and you know what alcohol does to one's memory and brain cells. LOL!

However, my plan for the remainder year is to actually keep a log of my travels, pictures, souvenir items, travel logs, and everything else so I can keep note of the places that I've been to and the places that I'm planning to visit. So my fellow PPers, how do you keep tabs of your travels and adventures?

Feel free to share.

I don't do much traveling anymore but I used to take lots of photo and buy post cards when I did, and had my kids keep the journal as I was driving. I was an extended month long home school field trip. I kept my own photo album. gave each of the children copies of all the photos, and they each an their own albums, which they needed to label. This was a good part of our geography course.

I have travelled extensively both home and abroad but I have not kept anything on record. I remember vividly each and every holiday I have gone on. :)

No I haven't probably because I haven't been to a lot of places yet. But maybe I should start doing that. :)

allen0187 I havent traveld in many years now. I never kept any log nor took many pictures. I just enjoyed the time I had. I never thought that far ahead with vacations. My evil ex has all the pictures and videos through the years. I doubt I will ever see them again. Unless my children wind up with them down the road.

We have, kept photos, albums and written accounts. But they are very sporadic and I kind of regret it now.

I always try to get rid of a log before I leave....I find travelling tends to constipate one...lol

allen0187 wrote on August 18, 2014, 7:37 AM

Too funny Ellis ! Do it regularly so you don't get constipated!

Photos and videos seem to be the norm. Of course, there are souvenirs as well. I also wished that I kept better travel logs in the past.

Tuffy06 , yup, no better time to start than today! Where do you plan to go?

allen0187 wrote on August 18, 2014, 7:46 AM

bestwriter , memories are all that will remain in the end IMO. Memories are good enough for me.

Evil ex sounds so... evil! LOL! Like what I wrote in one of my replies below, memories are good enough for me.

You still have time to travel and collect pictures, videos, souvenirs, experiences, and memories.

allen0187 wrote on August 18, 2014, 8:18 AM

BarbRad that sounds like a plan! I'll do something similar as a travel log project for my daughter. Thanks for the idea.

I wish vut I collect key chains so friend and relatives give me some so even if I haven't been there I have a souvenir

allen0187 Memories might be good enough, but every once in a while a picture makes all the difference.

My mom wants to go to Vietnam, Cambodia, or Myanmar next year. I can't wait. :)

I may write an article on exactly what we did and how, with some photos -- after this Squidoo mess is settled.
