Free TV Ain't That Bad

FreeTV ain't that bad and I can say this from experience. I used to have cable but part of my frugalliving , I decided to stop my subscription with my cable provider. It didn't made sense as I'm hardly home and the choice of movies and programs are not that good.
So I decided to cut my cable and save myself a substantial amount per month. I figured I'll just get dvd copies of my favorite movies or use my pc to watch my favorite programs online. Anyway, since cutting cable, I've seen a number of good programs with the local channels. Sure, Philippine local TV is dominated by channels 2 and 7 with channel 5 being a far third but the these don't fare so bad at all. I'm really happy with channel 11, the news channel of channel 7, ETC programs at channel 9, and my two favorites, AKTIV channel 13, which shows a lot of sports including selected matches from the four major leagues of soccer (#EnglishPremierLeague, GermanBundesliga , SpanishPrimera , and ItaliaSerieA ) and TalkTV channel 21 which shows reruns of JayLeno , Conan , and the DavidLetterman shows among others.
Do you have cabletv or do you watch free tv?

I prefer free tv. I think cable is a waist of money.

I need cable because I can only get channel 2 and 7 here in my place ABS and GMA and since I am home most of the time I make use of it especially at night.

I have a television, but it isn't plugged in, lol. What little I want to view I can find on the computer.

We watch cable because we don't have free TV here anymore. At least not that I know of.

I can see the point of thinking that cable tv is a waste of money vserrao1 . Here in Manila, not everyone has cable tv.

i know what you mean paperdaisyflower7 . People often get cable tv to improve their tv reception. Without cable tv, all they'll get are a grainy, 'unwatchable' pictures. LOL!

LOL Feisty56 . Good point. Almost everything, new or old series, can be found and watched online... for FREE!

BarbRad , how much does cable tv costs in the States? Just curious.

It depends on whom you get it from. Some people get cable. Some get satellite. Our current plan is promotional for the first year and is part of a bundle with phone and internet. The TV part costs 43.50 a month including about 6.00 in taxes. If we move back, home, we will probably cut the TV or my husband will have to take it over. I hardly ever watch it.
