CELEBRATING A BIRTHDAY

For those who don’t know I am a Leap Year Baby--born of February 29 I have a birthday every 4 years and I don’t celebrate in between.
This isn’t about my Leap Year birthdays because when I turn 20 in 2016 I will tell you all about it. This is the end of the “A Chorus Line”/Donna McKechnie series.
When I turned 19 in 2012 I celebrated the month staring off with the Donna McKechnie one woman show (and a kiss from her!) and then explored the finest restaurants in Fort Lauderdale. In between we went to see Kathleen Turner in “High” at my favorite theatre The Parker Playhouse. We also saw a smashing production of “Billy Elliot” at the Broward Performing Arts Center.
My neighbor ‘Poochie’--don’t ask--offered to make a collage of all my birthday events that year and it hangs over my bed. I look at it and shake my head that we went to a steakhouse, Miller’s, where it cost us over $100 each and we don’t drink! It was a major disappointment as the place was not standout as far as ambiance or food.
One of the highlights was Gamaroff’s where we had a 36 ounce melt in your mouth prime ribs for $18.95 not to forget lunch at Wing’s ‘N More where their wings just fall apart at the moment you put them in your mouth. We had the all you can eat feast at Texas De Brazil, German food at the Old Heidelberg, Italian food at Bravo just to name a few places. We also had a leisurely lunch at the beach restaurant of the Marriott Harbor Beach hotel.
I think all this food is on my mind because we are going to see “The Hundred Foot Journey” with Helen Mirren which is a ‘food movie--my kind of film--pitting classic French food against Indian food, this afternoon.
And so my 19th birthday came to an end and I have already started preparations for my 20th birthday in 2016 when I will tell you all about my Leap Year birthdays and my plans for February 29, 2016--I am an optimist that both I and Personapaper will still be here--and even send a few invites if you are nice to me!! :O)

I can see that you are a food lover. I will wish you a happy birthday in 2016 if we are still around.

Greatmartin Okay, you're 19 years old. You're doing better than me. If I can only be 19 again. Well, I will be waiting for that 20th birthday post about your leap year birthdays. I am sure it will be an exciting post.

I'll be around--I have a big party planned!
1Yes I am a food lover--if I had to choose between food and/or sex I'd have ice cream on a naked body! :O)

I am very happy to be 19 again---at 78!! Sorry I would never want to be a kid again even knowing what I know--I have had a up and down life but the bottom line is how I am today--content and satisfied! :O)

GreatMartin I wouldn't mind being 19 again. I had a great time at that age. But, since we cannot go backwards, I am pretty content now in my life as well.
