"page cannot be displayed error"
Every time I clicked on a link on my computer it would display the "page cannot be displayed" error. I'm not that technologically inclined but it was enough of a nuisance for me to try and figure it out somehow, someway. I Googled why it kept happening but of course it would display that annoying error every time. I was able to read the text that it shows you as a preview before actually clicking on the link and I saw something about a plug in container.
For the life of me I couldn't figure out what that was. I'd never heard of such a thing. A few more articles were a bit more rambunctious and would say things like, "delete firefox and move on with your life", which I seriously considered. If so many other people were having this problem then I assumed that I was just doomed to receive this message from time to time or all at once on any given day.
I noticed some other text that said go to control panel, and blah blah blah whatever. I tinkered pointlessly around in that section for a good half an hour, learned nothing, so that's good. Then the computer froze, so I did the control alt delete thing and clicked on task manager to end the task I was working on. Under the "other running apps" section I noticed this silly little booger program called "plug in container". So I stop the darn thing from running, and viola, my computer quit showing that error message. I realize this MIGHT just be a temporary fix (how would I even know anyway), but for now it worked, and I'll do it again if I have to.
