I Don't Like My Roommate.

Do you have a roommate who you can't stand living with? My roommate has certain bad habits that have been brought up to his attention by the landlord of this house, but he just doesn't seem to care. Here are some of my complaints against him.

1) He uses up the paper towels and dish washing liquid in the kitchen, but doesn't buy any for the household.

2) When he comes home from work, he heads straight to the bathroom while talking on the phone and stays in there for at least 45 minutes. (The house owner actually timed this.)

3) When he finishes using the bathroom, he leaves water all over the sink and floor.

4) He makes the most mess in the bathroom but never once cleaned it. I am not exaggerating when I say this. When the landlord complained to him about not cleaning, he says he has a busy schedule so he can't do it.

5) His room is very filthy and the landlord brought this up to his attention. He has layers of dust in his room and she told him that the dust makes her sneeze. Since he won't clean, she has had to do it. I told her to start charging him every time she has to clean his room.

The landlord wants to get rid of him, but she does not want the hassle of finding a new tenant for the house. Even if she told him to leave, it is illegal to kick out a tenant without thirty days notice.

I wish he would leave, but since the landlord is lenient with him, he has no reason to move out.

This is most annoying. He is not showing any consideration for other people. She should put up his rent to charge for additional cleaning services!

The problem is that sometimes the next person is worse. Perhaps knowing that you could find a way to deal with it.

Ha Ha, it better not be urine or he will have a problem with me.

She did one time but now she realizes that he still does not care.

I rarely speak to the dude. I just think he is dumber than a rock.

It is the landlord's problem. She picks the tenants.

It is posts like this that make me so glad I have never had a roommate, well other than my partner and that's hard enough at times lol

I guess he pays his rent regularly, so I bet she secretly loves him.

She needs to STOP being lenient, or she might have to find a new tenant to replace YOU when you give up and move! I am sure she would rather have you around than him. I can't BELIEVE she cleans up after him.

The landlady is very nice. She yells at him, but it goes through one ear and out the other. If the room does not get cleaned, insects will come in.

She can't stand him. She thinks he is filthy.

Do you live in a sort of rooming house, Victor? I think I'd have great difficulty in a situation like that. I don't do well with room mates - even when it's people we choose to live with.

It is a rooming house. I have lived in rooming houses for years. You have to get used to living with other people you can't stand. Luckily, I have my own room, so I do have some privacy. It is a nice house with wonderful owners. Its the roommate I don't like.
